MD Labs was founded to provide prompt, relevant, accurate and reliable test results, designed with our referring healthcare provider clients needs in mind. Our History

MD Labs was founded in 2011 and the first laboratory in the State of Nevada to provide LCMS-based testing to support the pain management and substance use disorder provider communities. Our founders, Matthew Rutledge and Denis Grizelj launched MD Labs with the goal of creating a more provider-friendly testing service that prides itself on delivering prompt, accurate, reliable, and easy to understand results to providers across the United States.

When our referring clients were seeing patients taking the same prescription in the same dosage but displaying widely different laboratory results, MD Labs launched our Rxight pharmacogenetics division to help providers understand how each patients genetics can impact both their medication response and their medication metabolism so that they may avoid adverse drug reactions (ADR’s) and improve medication efficacy. Pharmacogenetics coverage has expanded with Medicare and several state Medicaid programs, as well as some private insurers in recent years.

In 2020, when faced with the global COVID-19 pandemic, MD Labs responded by offering PCR-based testing to get our workforces back to work, our children back in school and to protect our most vulnerable populations. MD Labs no longer offers COVID-19 testing but works with several partner labs who do, so please reach out to us if you have a need.

MD Labs is fully certified high complexity laboratory with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) license #29D2032647 and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). We are upheld to the highest proficiency testing standards in the industry and conform to all applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
